1. Who We Are

BetterTransfer (bettertransfer.co) is a private transfer marketplace, currently operated as a sole trader. Contact: hello@bettertransfer.co or (WhatsApp). A registered company name and address will be added here once the business is incorporated.+374 77 292 595 (WhatsApp).

2. What Data We Collect

When you submit a transfer request, we collect:

  • Your name
  • WhatsApp phone number
  • Email address
  • Transfer details (pickup, destination, date, passenger count)
  • Any notes you provide

When a driver registers, we collect their name, WhatsApp, email, vehicle details, and service areas.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases:

  • Contract performance — your data is necessary to fulfill a transfer booking you have requested.
  • Legitimate interests — we use analytics data to improve our service, and we prevent fraud, abuse, spam and repeated no-shows (including by keeping a blocklist) to protect our drivers and platform.
  • Consent — for optional email communications and advertising cookies.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

  • Match your transfer request with available drivers
  • Send you booking confirmation and updates by email (if provided)
  • Facilitate communication between you and your driver
  • Improve our service
  • Prevent fraud, abuse and repeated no-shows — we may keep a blocklist of phone numbers and email addresses (including those linked to your past bookings) so that blocked users cannot make new bookings

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use the details you give us (name, contact, trip) to target ads. Third-party advertising cookies (Google AdSense) are used only if you accept them in our cookie banner — see section 7.

5. Who Sees Your Data

Drivers who respond to your booking will see your route, date, and passenger count. Once a driver is confirmed, they will receive your WhatsApp number to coordinate the pickup. Your name and contact details are never shared publicly.

6. Third-Party Processors

We use the following trusted third-party services to operate BetterTransfer:

  • Supabase (EU-West) — database and data storage.
  • Vercel — website hosting and analytics.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery.
  • Google Analytics 4 — website analytics and user behaviour tracking. Google may use cookies to measure how visitors use our site.
  • Microsoft Clarity — heatmaps and session recordings. Clarity may record mouse movements, clicks, and scrolls to help us improve the site. Data is processed by Microsoft.
  • Google AdSense — advertising. Google may use cookies to show relevant ads.
  • HubSpot (US) — customer-relationship management for hotel partner enquiries.
  • International transfers — some processors are located outside the EEA (for example, in the US). Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy/Data Privacy Framework mechanism.

7. Cookies

  • Analytics — Vercel Analytics uses cookieless tracking. Google Analytics 4 may store cookies to measure usage. You can opt out via Google Ad Settings.
  • Session recording — Microsoft Clarity records anonymised session data (mouse movements, clicks, scrolls) to help us improve the site.
  • Advertising — Google AdSense may store cookies on your device to personalise and measure the effectiveness of advertisements. You can opt out via Google Ad Settings.

We load analytics and advertising cookies only after you accept them in our cookie banner. If you reject, only essential cookies are used. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

8. Data Storage & Retention

Your data is stored on Supabase servers in the EU-West region. We keep booking data for up to 12 months, after which it is automatically deleted. As an exception, blocklist entries (a phone number and/or email, with a reason) are kept for as long as necessary to prevent fraud and abuse. You can export or delete your data at any time — see "Your Rights" below.

9. Your Rights

Under GDPR and equivalent laws in the countries where we operate (Albania, Montenegro, Serbia, Kosovo and North Macedonia), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Object to or restrict processing
  • Data portability (receive your data in a structured format)
  • Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)

To exercise these rights, use our self-serve tool at bettertransfer.co/privacy/data (verify by email, then export or delete), or email hello@bettertransfer.co. We respond within 30 days.

10. Applicable Law

This policy is governed by the data protection laws of Montenegro (Law on Personal Data Protection, 2021) and Albania (Law No. 9887 on Protection of Personal Data), which are harmonised with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
