The story
"BetterTransfer was created for people — by a tourist who got scammed."
Vadim, our founder, booked a prepaid transfer in Albania through a large international platform. At the last minute, the platform cancelled the ride without the driver's request. The customer didn't get a refund. The driver didn't get paid. And on top of that, the driver was hit with a heavy cancellation fine from the platform itself.
Nobody won — except the platform. That's the moment BetterTransfer was born.
Our mission
Remove the middleman. Connect travellers directly with local drivers.
BetterTransfer is a marketplace, not a taxi company. We don't own cars, we don't employ drivers, and we don't take a cut of every ride. Drivers set their own prices. Customers choose the offer they like. Payment goes directly from passenger to driver.
Other platforms charge drivers 20–30% commission on every booking — a cost that gets passed straight to you as inflated prices. We charge zero. That means a driver on BetterTransfer can offer you a fair price and still earn the same as they would anywhere else.
